The founder
Brandon Scott studied Theatre and Performing Arts at Texas A&M University–Commerce, where he focused on acting and directing and did extended work in writing for the stage and the screen. While there he completed two stages of a Meisner intensive certificate programme, the training that still shapes how he directs a performer toward a true moment rather than a demonstrated one.
His stage career spans many productions as an actor and director, alongside work on one student film and one independent feature. As an acting and stage-performance coach he worked almost exclusively with students and recent graduates of acting and music programmes, preparing them for entrance auditions to further study and for the auditions that followed graduation. That work produced Emotional Equilibrium, his own approach to building a performance from emotional balance outward.
Since then he has built an audience of 50,000 on YouTube and a supporting community of more than 800 members around close performance analysis: watching work frame by frame and explaining why a choice lands or doesn't. That's Not Studios is where that analysis becomes production.
Where this is going
The studio is laying the foundations for independent film production, with a full launch planned for late 2027 or early 2028. The performers we hire for brand work now are the company we intend to cast from then. That is why they're credited, paid on a retainer, and directed as performers from the first brief.
The house's reaction and analysis channels remain separate from the studio. Studio work is never presented as independent review, and performers are never presented as customers.
